Hello,
My name is Ms. Female, and I am 31 years old.

I have recently become an amputee, (below the knee) amputee...... Well, let me answer the normal questions I receive first. No, I'm not some drug addict. No, I didn't lose my leg for our country!! And no, I am not a Diabetic nor have I ever suffered from the disease or really any other underlying health issues that would cause not one but 5 of the back-to-back surgery and procedures that I have had to concur since September 23rd, 2022.

Sadly that is not where this journey even started for me!! Really Before this time last year, you couldn't have even fathomed that I would be this woman you see writing this today. I was just discharged home November 3, 2022, in my opinion, before I should have been medically speaking all due to the same issues, I will discuss in more detail throughout this letter for whomever is reading.

Well, to clarify my situation this all started as a simple ankle sprain on the job December 2, 2021. I know it does not really make sense; It doesn't to me either to be quite honest!!! What really twist things up is that in the course of that time I have seen 20 to 30 doctors combined for this problem but because the healthcare system we as a people endure this journey led to 2 amputations, this last one hopefully being the ticket to save my life.

One thing I have learned going through all of this is good if you don't have the right dollar amount and in some cases skin tone the healthcare system and its workers get to play God deciding who gets the best health care or not they started off as a worker comp situation but now I'm sending my story to whoever will listen knowing that someone should have should have called the mistakes they made and fixed it well before this even happened the doctors that I want to see started off as a small collection at first one doctor saying it was an ankle sprain physical therapy would be what I needed and then once I was seem to be better I was returned back to work but one day driving the bus all the sudden my foot went dead not able to move not knowing what's wrong so going back to my doctors that originally said that this was nothing but ankle sprain I confided in him and he knew that something was a little wrong sending me off to a specialist now at that time I'm going to the specialist a simple procedure would have fixed this the screw and a plate of my ankle would have fixed this whole problem but the day of surgery the insurance decided they didn't want to pay saying that this was caused by arthritis or plantar fasciitis and even me and my original doctor both looked at them like how does those reasons explain an ankle injury and major and go injury at that now knowing that I had torn the lateral ligaments in my ankle and they had healed them properly but as soon as I found out that they wouldn't pay I did what I could said something let it be known that hey I need help if I would have gotten that surgery in May of 2022 it would have possibly took 6 to 8 weeks to heal and I'd be right back working and living life is normal or well as I knew to be no more like one point but all because they felt the need not to pay not knowing who I was not coming to even send the doctor to check me out there selves they just assumed and guessed and ultimately change my life forever going further on things started to get worse and I started to develop ulcers on my foot and not one doctor really did their job they would look and misdiagnosed it is the skin infection or some type of less infection that could be fixed with antibiotics that didn't actually work for me and send me on about my way to wear from the time from July all the way up until I had surgery for my first one nobody did the proper test and then finally when they did and saying that this was a vascular issue with no underlining problems the doctors became afraid or worried that they wouldn't get their money's worth all I would hear from doctors is there's nothing we can do there's nothing we can do instead of even body even wanting to try because of the procedure that I needed after so long became a little bit more expensive towards even my insurance at the time wouldn't he recovered it and without workers comp wanting to pay for it the doctors kind of figured they wouldn't get their money now I will not lie and say that I have not met a few doctors that care along this path I've had a primary care physician that tried her hardest even with the money issues to do whatever she can to see what was wrong underneath it All and wild text sitter I'm at a wonderful surgeon who eventually made the decision that my life was more than just a dollar amount and did save my life ultimately having to take my leg to take away the gangrene that I had suffer from in my foot that could have become very systematic if I did not allow him to do everything he could by the grace of God but even the facility that he sent me to after so long realizing that insurance may not pay all the doctors caring for me or the impatient therapy facility that I should have been taken to they woke up yesterday morning 11/02/22 and felt that I would be better off being discharged and now sent I'm on my own down this journey of what could or could not happen depending on what outpatient or even next facility I would have to go to in order to receive the rest of my care for I will sit home with staples still in my leg so hopefully the next doctors are running into don't treat me like just a chart or just the body on a table and they see me as a person that does mean quality healthcare so that way I won't go through the same covers I have been going through ultimately after fight for my life once again but I am writing this to let it be known that the system wasn't fair for this should have never went as far and hopefully by the time somebody is reading this I am okay and I am back to the help that I can at least get on with some part of my life but that this doesn't happen to anyone else and that people will just be seen for who can or cannot survive based on what insurance will pay for or what is qualified but we can get back to a quality of life for every life that matter no matter what dollar amount no matter what skin tone no matter what job position or people actually start caring about people again I pray for this for the world and hopefully by the time you read this letter I do get to meet whoever is reading it and not everything goes well for me because I won't stop fighting for my lies or anyone else's that just needs somebody to actually care about them and take care of them like they were family thank you for your time and reading this whoever you are and I hope you see the bigger picture. What should I do?
