A screening of the latest Spider-Man film was thrown into chaos after one cinema-goer reportedly cleared the entire auditorium with their rancid farts. Movie fans watching Spider-Man: Brand New Day were forced to abandon the screening on Saturday (August 2) after a foul smell spread through the packed cinema.
Rather than sit through the stench, hundreds of viewers got up and left the darkened screen, spilling into the corridor of the cinema at the Plaza Bocagrande shopping center in Cartagena, Colombia. Footage from the scene shows crowds gathered outside the auditorium, with some people covering their noses as they waited. A person dressed as Spider-Man could also be seen mingling with disappointed filmgoers.
According to local reports, the culprit has never been identified. It comes after movie theater employees threatened to quit over teenagers' disgusting behavior in a viral trend.
The bizarre incident quickly sparked debate online, with social media users sharing jokes alongside their disbelief.
One person said: "There's no respect any more, but I don't think anyone is so rotten as to evacuate an entire auditorium filled with innocent people."
