ex-wife wanting to sign over guardianship

I live in Texas....my ex-wife lives in Mississippi....our 16 year old daughter lives with me in Texas....we have joint-custody but my child has always lived with me....my ex told my daughter that she is going to sign over legal guardianship to her mother (daughter's grandmother) who lives in Houston....can this be done without my consent/signature.....I am not in agreement with this.....I am very capable of raising my child.....
does anyone know the steps/process for signing over legal guardianship in Texas....

No Mom just cannot do this. It would not be a legal document. The paper would probably not hold much weight in court.

custody if you do not have it. Who officially has custody on paper? I think its time to file for it.
