If a US resident receives a DUI and 2 years later wants to apply for citizenship is it true that he/she has to wait 5 years from the date of "conviction" to apply for his/her citizenship?

In addition-
-DUI/DWI is only mark on his/her record
-Served in the US Military
-Has been resident for over 10 years

It all depends on how you fight your case. Some have gotten deported for DUI's. If you fight it successfully, you should be able to get citizenship.
