I own a unit in a condo in nyc. I rent my unit out. All of the other units are owner occupied and one unit is a pied-a-terre.
The condo's certiorari attorney is filing the 2025/2026 real estate tax protest and has asked for amount of rent for any apts being rented in the building. See below.
B/c the attorney is trying to reduce the condo buildings taxes, I don't think they would provide the data point if it hurts the case. Having said that, I don't want to provide any information that could potentially raise my property taxes. Any advice on how I should handle this?
"There is no need to provide a rent roll. If it is readily available, we typically like to review information regarding any rental units within the building, including the rents being achieved, if you have access to that information. This is certainly not a necessity, but rather a helpful piece of information when evaluating the case."
