Can a wholesale vendor put a lien on a "for sale," property for goods they sold to a sole proprietor?

Can a wholesale vendor use a real estate website to send a message threatening to do this?

I have had to put a mechanics lien on a property before (due to non-payment by the GC) but I know that I only had 45 days after I completed work on the project to do so and there were all kinds of other rules & circumstances that had to fit.

Abstract of Judgment!

He can, but first he needs to file a lawsuit and secure a favorable judgment to become your Judgment Creditor, on the strength of which he can obtain an Abstract of Judgment in order to record (and place) a lien on your property. And unfortunately both personal, as well as the business assets (and holdings) of a sole proprietor are available to a judgment creditor's attack.

Also, it is legal to threaten someone with litigation and the means (civilized of course) or medium by which the threat is conveyed is immaterial.
