Hi all, I will try to keep this as short as possible. My husband has a 9 year old son that we have been unable to locate for the past few years. Well on 12-26-06 a county sheriff came to our door to inform us that the childs mother had been murdered and we needed to get the child, heres the catch, the child is in Iowa, we are in South Carolina. My husband has always paid child support on him, and we have never known where he was until the other day. We have been in touch with an attoeney in Iowa and she told us to all Iowa DHR and open a case, which we did and DHR has told us that they can not help us in any manner to get the child. We then contacted the South Carolina DSS and they also said they can not help us in anyway. So we are stuck and dont know what to do all we want is the child with us and know that he is safe. Can someone please help us?

Have you called around to a family law attorney in Iowa? Please do so, they should help in securing temp. custody for dad.
