I have a 15 month old and the father has not been totally involved. He comes around when he wants to and I had to have the CS garnished in order to get it. I am planning on getting married to my boyfriend soon and I was wondering if we would have to be married a certain amount of time before he could try to adpot her? My attorney seems to think that my x will give up his rights and let my boyfriend adopt her just so he doesn't have to pay support. But at the same time he hasn't shown any interest in my daughter. I want to know what my boyfriends chances are at adoption after we are married.
