Ummm, I would be careful. A verbal agreement IS an agreement just as if it had been in writing and signed. It is only a matter of proving this. And if you have been paying for the car ($212.00) (for how long?) that is proof that an agreement exsist. Hence you would be in breach of contract...

If not have not YET been sued and still have many offer opitions available to you. For example, agreeing to a payment plan and no further interest charged to the account.

I don't think so but I'm no lawyer. As I remember it, the credit card company can't really do much *if* your mother makes regular payments.
I think first, she needs to cancel the card, then she can make a pay back agreement with the card...
