dont use them for a referance, find someone who is willing to give a good referance for the last two years even a private person with kids who needs child care.
yes you can appeal and go in front of a mediator to settle this make sure you have details, peoples names, phone numbers, and everthing that happened that day..
well I am a spanish male, and I will give you advice for future referance, first you should not have any late days at all what so ever sorry no excuses and if you do you should have a Dr.'s note, same for sick days a Dr.'s note, that way you can record it as well,

I would'nt worry about it, do a backround check on yourself if its there, then after you apply just explain it to your interviewer they are lean on these charges just have to go through a couple of interviews, try a different company first and see how that interview goes, before going to the job...
