Wrongful termination question

I was let go from a contracted county parks & rec position. Our contract stated if 30 days written notice was provided, the county could terminate the position. I was not given 30 days' notice, nor was I provided a reason for the release. In turn, the county is now saying I left on my own, but multiple correspondence says otherwise.

In addition, the association of which I was supervisor provided erroneous, slanderous, and libelous information to the county which was used in making their decision to not renew my contract.

Do I have a case against either the county for breaking the terms of our written contract, or the individuals of the association who defamed me - which resulted in the loss of my position?
