Can an employer deduct a weeks wages from hourly employee wages only? this would be deducted on Jan 1 from existing employees. Salaried employees are exempt.

And since you didn't give enough information, I will give the general answer that any such deduction (even if legal) generally can not drop them below the minimum wage and overtime standards. But like Elle asks, what is the reason for the deduction? You might get a better answer.
