The defendant had just heard the jury's guilty verdict.

Jury leaves the courtroom after being thanked for their diligence and jury service by the federal judge.

The defendant swiftly removed "an object, ran it across his throat" , turned around to face the gallery, revealing blood spurting everywhere.

US Marshals rushed to attend to the bleeding man, alas he later died.

The FBI and Marshals are investigating, spectators are speculating, all that is known the man is dead.

Maybe he couldn't face prison. Maybe he wanted to be a martyr for his cause. I really don't care. His suicide saves the taxpayer a great deal of money.

I just saw another article that said he was tried on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, reckless endangerment, terrorizing, and using a firearm in a violent felony. He apparently drove a vehicle at seven children at high speeds and nearly hit them, and assaulted a person with a 9mm handgun. He was only convicted on one of the charges, but apparently that was one too many for him.

Maybe he was wanting to be an inspiration to future criminals, at least people will now associate him with handling his business in court.

Budd Dwyer set a pretty good example, no will ever forget that afternoon meeting on TV when he took care of his business before trial.

Inspiring a song from the band Filter stating "Hey man nice shot.."

not sure about the royalty aspect of it but like Dwyer no one will ever forget this is the guy who cut his own throat after a jury verdict.

"Hey man, nice slash..."

Perhaps in those glorious days of yesteryear, my friend, that was true.

These days, someone will reap a tidy sum from the government's coffers containing taxpayer loot because he killed himself while under the protection of some hoosegow.

That is certainly ONE way to analyze the event. ;)
