I was charged with felony aggravated assault in Georgia. The District Attorney dead-docketed the case due to an agreement we made regarding me getting mental health treatment. I am keeping my end of the bargain and I have moved to Florida with permission from the D.A.. I was offered a job by a local company as a security guard, which requires a class D license in the state of Florida. The class requires 40 hours of training. I attended my first day of class today and there was a questionairre I had to fill out. It asked about criminal history, pending litigation and adjudication. My question is this: I have no police record whatsoever. Will the dead-docket show up on a background check or any other personal checks that may be performed? I was NEVER convicted of anything.

thank you

It will show up as an arrest but not a conviction. So it depends on the standard of where you work. Most of the time an arrest may have to be explained but will not prevent you from getting the job.
