Arraignment, Bail, Bonds, Pretrial why is my bond so high (child molesters have lower bonds)

I was wondering why my bond is so high and how I can get it lowered. I searched through the roster in state my warrant is active and it floored me to see how many felony charges there were and very very low bond amounts! I would like to know who decides the bond amount? What are the factors in deciding the bond amounts? I have never had a criminal record. It is a misdemeanor charge. Can I get it lowered?
