About 18 mos ago my wife and I were in trouble with the law with drugs. In fear that our house may be taken by the law,my wife was swindled out of the deed to our house by my father-in-law while I was working two jobs to pay for the lawyers bills. Now he is wanting rent from us even though the house was paid for in my wife's name while we were married. Is there anything under Kansas property laws that will get the deed switched back over??

When wife quit claimed deeded to father, FATHER should have provided you a quit claim deed BACK at the same time that you did not record UNTIL all of your "woes" were over....You may need to go to court to get ownership back if it was fraudlent in the first place.
