Authorities say that on July 11th, the Bruceville-Eddy police department received a PHS and granted the department permission to look into his prior history in a background check during the hiring process.

Later on July 16th, an in-person pre-interview was scheduled with Dodson where he confirmed in person that everything he had put in his PHS was true and accurate.

During the background investigation, officers found false entries and misrepresentations on Dodson's PHS.

Dodson said he had worked with multiple police agencies across the state.

In the PHS, Dodson said he had not had a physical or verbal altercation with a supervisor or co-worker, but further investigation found pervious disciplinary actions at work from engaging in insubordination.

Resulting in Dodson being sent home from work when he was working as a jailer with the San Jacinto County Sheriff's office.

Investigations also found an internal affairs investigation related to a complaint of a sexual harassment towards another officer when he was with the Plum Grove Police Department, even though Dodson had claimed he had never been accused of discrimination.

The Plum Grove Police Department found the complaint was credible, and Dodson was fired after an initial investigation.

Dodson initiated an appeal, saying the investigation was unfair.

The investigating officer found that many of Dodson's answers on his PHS were inconsistent.

They also found during their search that Dodson had three fleet accidents in two years with the Plum Grove Police Department.

He was arrested based on the the findings on the PHS and since Dodson knowingly made these false entries, it is charged as a state jail felony.
