What is legal and/or illegal when quitting a job?

If I decide to quit my job and:
1. make copies of schedules to ensure proper payment on my last check, is it illegal?
2. I have a cleaning list that I created for myself as a "to do" list can I take it with me or does the employer have the right to the list?
