I just received an MIP on the morning of October 2. I know that I will be required to appear in court and with a plea of guilty I will have to pay a fine of around $200. The University I attend also offers a class that must be taken. I was wondering if this MIP would appear on my parents insurance, or if there is any other way in which they would be notified. since I am 18 I am choosing not to tell them. If anybody has been in this situation or has some helpful advice, please reply. (and please don't tell me to tell my parents...

MIP have nothing to do with insurance so you don't need to worry. If I were you I should let my parents know of course they will upset but you might need their help for support through the probation period . Nowaday they treat kid with MIP like a criminal, they make a big deal out of it you will see what I mean after you going to court. Good luck
