Consumer Law, Warranties what happens if co signer dies?

My grandfather co-signed student loans for me. He and I were the only people who signed them. My cosigner is now concerned that if he dies and I were to default on the loan , would the bank go after my grandmother who is not a signer of the loan. Specifically, would she be legally liable the same as my grandfather is now in repaying the loan if I default? Thank you...
