If I say I'm 18, but I'm not, to work online for a site such as chacha.com, what can happen to me? Is it likely? Is it illegal - I'm assuming yes? I'm a minor and don't want to go to jail.

SO saying your 18, but your not, and they ask for info that i can provide, no IDs, ect. It's likely they won't know I'm a minor just by looking at my S.S. #.
I'm eligible for a work permit, just not 18.

I'm saying that if you claim you're 18 and aren't to get a job you're otherwise not eligible for, you're a liar, but you're not violating the law. Lying is not illegal. Your employer is the one who is violating the law if he hires you. It's HIS responsibility to verify that you're actually over 18. And he should.
