What are his rights?

My best friend is 7 months pregnant. The father of the child is a man who she dated for a couple of months and it was a casual relationship. She has told him about the baby and tried to be open to his opinions and let him be a part of the pregnancy. However he is making this very difficult and telling her she is not being fair and considering his rights as a father. My question is what are his rights at this point, since they were never married and never lived together? They live in Tennessee, she would like to set up a formal custody and visitation for when the baby is born but does she have to have contact with him now?

He has no rights until the baby is born and paternity has been established. However if he wants to be involved then she might want to keep communicating with him to a certain level.
