What would happen if we were to just walk away from a timeshare that was donated to our foundation. The gift was supposed to fund the foundation (with the proceeds of selling)but the maintenance fees are using up all of the money that was donated to start the foundation. The timeshares are located in FL and TN. We have tried to sell these units but no one wants them.

I saw an idea on getting rid of timeshares and it involved quit claiming the deed back to the resort. It said to fill out the quit claim, file it with the county and when the new deed is complete give it to the resort.

Please let me know the possibilites of what could happen if we just walked away. Can you tell me if the idea I heard is a legitimate one or if not do you have any.

Try the quit claim deed.

Will it work?

I don't have the slightest idea.
