Visitation

When my son was 5 yrs. old I gave him up to his father because of my own personal issues. I did not see my son for 8 yrs. He is now 13 and I can only visit him at his Fathers home which I have been respectfully doing for 2 years now but not on any schedule.

We signed an agreement documented by the courts that I would pay a little over $200.00 a month for child support. I am paying $300.00 a month but am $20,000 in arrears. The papers were never changed and still stay we have joint custody and that the order dated Sept. 5, 2000 grants non specific reasonable parenting time.

He has threatened to make my life miserable if I file for visitation.

Can he keep me from taking him with me for visitation if there is no document stating so?

Can he try to get more money from me for child support if I file for visitation? Thank you for any answers you can give me.

"Reasonable" is too vague; Dad can play games without much of a risk of being told off by the court.

You need to go back to court and get visitation spelled out so that Dad can't withhold it on a whim.

Yes, he can request more child support. His request may or may not be granted (though the odds are in his favor).
