I reside in Canada.
I have recently been contacted by my 1/2 sister who resides in the US.

She approached myself and my two 'full' sisters on a website, via messages; indicating she wished to know us.
We then lost contact shortly after she advised her (our) father that she was in contact with us.
She had not known of our existence until she came across hidden documents and pictures that our father kept.
We did not know of her until she contacted us.

I believe he has suspended her use of internet because he's concerned she would learn of his past.

"Our" father was convicted of child molestation & abuse 21yrs ago, of my two 'full' sisters and myself.

It is NOT our intention to advise our siblings or their mother because IF they children are indeed safe, then such knowledge could cause irrevocable damage to them emotionally.

Having said that, my 2 full sisters and myself STILL wish to maintain contact with our 1/2 siblings; ascertain that they are safe and develop relationships with them.

What rights, if any, do my 2 sisters and I have with regards to visitation and communicating with our 1/2 siblings who are minor children (15 & 14yrs old).

Thanks in advance.

Some states do have sibling visitation statutes. However, those usually apply to siblings that had a previous relationship. I doubt they would apply to your situation.

To be certain, you should consult an attorney in the state where your half-sister lives.
