Recently, my son was in an accident. I told the tow truck driver I no longer wanted the vehicle since it was worthless. Without telling me where the car was being taken, he hauled it away. 2 weeks later I went to retrieve some paper work out of the glove compartment and was told there was a $25 a day storage fee. The was no mention of any storgae fees when he took the car. Can he charge me without ever discussing this to me when they took the car?

Until you actually sign it over to them, you are responsible for the fees.

Contact your insurance company, or contact the tow company and see if you cvan work out a deal. In my state what often happens is that the tow company will sell the car and then charge you only the difference between the amount of the sale and what you owe on the impound.
