Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication VA FTA, Delinquincy of Minor

4 years ago I recieved a citation for 2 counts of contributing to the delinquincy of a minor for purchasing alcohol for persons under the age of 21 (in Fairfax Co., VA). The minors were 19 and 20 years old respectively. When my court date arrived, I was out of the country and failed to appear. A bench warrant was issued for my arrest. The virginia code states that for a class 1 misdemenor, the statute of limitations is 1 year. However, there is a provision for instances of trying to flee or allude arrest. I am planning to come back to Virginia and want to know what the status of the offense is and what will happen if I return.

The warrant will still be valid and you may be arrested. You should hire a lawyer to straighten this out before you arrive in Virginia.
