urgent information on bigamy

Hello, my name is Antonella, I'm from Italy
Last March I married a guy from Chicago in Louisiana who disappeared after a couple of months
I contacted a lawyer in Louisiana to try and divorce hime and she suggested to me that judging by his behaviour he could be bigamous
I don't know where to begin searching whether he is already married or not
I tried tocontact a lawyer in chicago but he asked 1000 dollars to find that out, but I can't afford that right now, is there a way I can go about finding out this information by myself?

You don't have to find out if he is already married or not.

There are a million places in the world where he could've gotten married.

So just divorce him.
