UPS provided shipment of a computer, valued at roughly $2,000, from my mother to me. The computer was well packaged, and the package was insured. Unfortunately, the components were damaged during shipment. The box is dented and scuffed showing signs of mishandling. UPS denied the claim of payment responding that the box did not appear to be damaged. I would like advice. What is the experience of others with UPS claims? What is the benefit of purchasing insurance?

Thanks.

Are you saying some of the components are damaged and can't work?
If the box does not look like it could have significantly damaged its content, it would be hard to have a case. All such companies always first deny to see if you let it fly.........If you keep fighting and you have a valid claim, you would finally get their attention when they feel legal action is eminent. Some insurance are only for lose, some are for lose and damage.........Check what you have.

In response to your question, yes, the components are damaged and can't work. The box showed signs of negligent handling. By that I mean it was dented and scuffed on multiple sides. The insurance was supposed to be for loss or damage. Thanks for the advice.
