My 47 year old son died recently. He was never married and has no children. He lived alone in New Mexico. I do not know if he had a will. His father and I were divorced 40 years ago, and we have had virtually no contact since, both live in Wisconsin within an hour's drive of each other. We have both remarried, but the father has no additional children other than the two we had together. My ex- husband did not inform me of our son's death; the remaining son did, but I do not know if he did this of his own free will or at his father's request. That son and I are not close and seldom speak. He lives in CA, so we never see each other, tho he comes here to visit his father on occasion, most notably Christmas, but never come to see me.
