Unsubscribed emails from company that was purchased.

We purchased another Credit Union in a merger acquisition and they had there own email list. Email addresses on this list have some unsubscribed emails. Do we have to honor the the unsubscribe from that company or being that we bought them can we send to their full email lists as now a new owner of that company and the email list?

Do you like negative publicity? Then don't use the emails of the unsubscribed.

Always do what's right, which is often the thing that's far more rigorous than the thing that's legal!

Besides, unsolicited emails are sent to the spam folder before the person even reads them.
