unpaid wages due to no 2 week notice

i applied to small claims court in ohio for unpaid wages and owner of company is suing me for revenue for his truck not being operated by us. this owner owes us 2600 dollars and we signed an agreement versus a contract.he is suing for 3800 dollars which this truck never made while we driving it.i need help

i would like to know what steps i should take before the small claims hearing and do i have any chance of recovering the money owed to me and why would i have to pay him.
