How do I get a copy of my Union grievances and other case document, the union lawyers said I can't inspect or copy any information under the foia.

FOIA only applies to certain public records. You mention a case. If you mean a legal case of some sort, your lawyer can issue a subpeona if there is justification to do so. Otherwise, you aren't legally entitled to those records.
