Uninsured not at fault

was uninsured at the time but not at fault. The guys company Geico contacted me saying they will pay for my damages. Is this true or are they trying to get information? The vehicle is not yet registered under my name since i bought it fairly recent

Didn't sound like a scam.
It is unfortunate you were not cited for not having insurance. Those fines are painful.

Thats okay when OP fails to file the SR1 they will get suspended. It appears the payout is in doubt. You may not be receiving it unless you satisfy them it should be given to you.
