My employer promised me family paid medical benefits if I came to work for him. This was in Sept. of 2003. He promised to give me these benefits in 30 days. As I confronted him about this over the past 6 months he always had an excuse, complaining about the agent, or some other reason. Now he let me go stating he can no longer afford me or health benefits.
He also has not paid me my last check. What is my recourse in this situation?

Of course it's not legal

It's not legal, but chances are you're better off moving on with your life. Did you have any medical claims in the 6 months worthly of trying to recover?

The last paycheck? File in small claims, no talent needed... the judge will smell just how bad this guy stinks in a couple minutes. just go to your county court house and fill out the form.
