Consumer Fraud Unauthorized draft from bank account

I noticed yesterday that a company took money out of my checking account without my knowledge or permission to pay someone else's bill and they told me they got a fax from one of thier other offices to draft the money. I've called my bank and they will take care of it but this makes me angry. That is theft is it not? What else can I do about this?

Generally not much as long as the bank takes care of it. I know of that happening to people & they just notified the bank & let them handle.

Yes it is theft. You can report it to your local law enforcement and they can figure out which jurisdiction is responsible for investigation. Unless there are multiple victims our a significant loss the investigation likely won't go far, but they can't arrest anyone if you never make a report.
