Talk about some bad luck. I've been driving for 17 years and never received a speeding ticket.
Well, just yesterday I got two in one day. I was driving through upstate New York when I received them.
I'm from Connecticut by the way.
I got the first ticket in Plattsburg, NY.
The trooper clocked me at 82 in a 65 using radar.
The second ticket was in Ballston Spa, NY.
The trooper clocked me at 80 in a 65 using laser.
I realize these tickets are 4 points each, but since I live in CT, these towns are quite far from me.
The court dates are on different dates and each would probably take me 4+ hours to reach.
I have three questions ...
- What sort of penalty would I be looking at?
- Is it certain that my points will carry over to the CT DMV?
- Is it worth trekking up there to make a plea or hope the troopers don't show up?
