Say you inherit a house with a mortgage way more then the house is worth? Say you don't want the house you just inherited? You know it's going to be nothing but trouble. Do you have to accept the property?

Of course you don't have to accept anything you don't want.

You can tell the court or the executor/executrix of the estate that you refuse to accept transfer of the property.
