I have pictures of my ex smoking weed with appears to be underage girl and a copy of an arrest for drinking in public. I have an order of protection for 2 yrs for him beating me up ealier this year. Also a letter from his room mate that kicked him out for drug abuse and drinking with minors. I wanted to know with all of this, if I go for custody will he get visitations? ?

Can you show that those behaviors pose an imminent danger to your child? If not, he will probably be awarded visitation. You can request restrictions, such as drug tests and supervised visits which may or may not be granted.
ETA: Out of curiosity, are you divorced? If so, who has custody now? How old is the child?

That's not enough for the court to deny visitation. You will have to prove the drug use and how it will harm your child. Same goes for the violent temper, especially if he has never been violent to the child.
You also have another hurdle. Unless the father's drug use is recent, then it will seem that it was not an issue for you in the past. If you had a child with a drug abuser, then you must have considered him suitable for fatherhood. Please note that I am not judging. I am only preparing you for statements/questions that may come up in court.
