trying to accuse me of a crime

as I am driving to work I get stopped by a cop who says I am suspect in a crime that had just happened near by. I tell the cop it wasn't me he takes me to the police station they make me take a lie detector test then tell me I can go. They keep me there for 3 hrs now am late for work. Can I sue?

All you had to do was politely decline to take the polygraph.

They didn't make you take the test, you somehow gave in to their demands.
