I am a US citizen. I was recently arrested for a DUI in CA. I will not know my result in early October. I do have a DUI lawyer and of course I am praying for a dismissal or a reduced charge. I travel for my job particularly to Asia (China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, etc.) Sometimes I travel to Europe. I would like to know if a DUI conviction (first offense) will prevent me from entering the countries I travel to. I know that I would not be able to enter Canada. I am suppose to be in China this November and I already have a multiple entry visa. If I also go to Japan at the same time, will my conviction prevent me from securing a temporary visa issued at the port of entry in Japan? I do not have anything else on my record.
