Hello

My husband and I have 2 personal properties that we own (no note). They are in a revocable trust. We may be looking at a civil suit from a past product vendor, for items we purchased when we owned our business. We sold the business 3 years ago, but I signed a personal guarantee with this vendor several years before we sold the business

My question is can I legally transfer the deeds to say a relative AFTER we am served or should we do it before hand?

Thanks

A few questions first, before I can render a legal opinion.

How long ago did you allegedly incur the debt?
In whose name was the debt allegedly incurred?
What is the amount in dispute?
In what state was the debt incurred?
In what do you now reside?
In what state is the vendor incorporated (or doing business)?
How long has the debt been dormant?

If you are expecting to be sued, you'd be better served in transferring title to the property immediately.
However, that may not be necessary.
What are the terms of the trust in which Thr deed is currently held?

No matter what I say, I suggest you retain counsel before doing anything about this.
