I plan on starting a town blog. I want people to express themselves on all topics. Sharing good news and bad around town. My concern is, can anyone including myself get in any kind of legal trouble if a policeman, lawyer, store owner, etc., had offended that person and they mentioned their names on the blog and what had happpened? (Ex: Letting out their frustrations about an undeserved speeding ticket). Does freedom of speech play a part here?
Thanks for your input.

Freedom of speech plays a huge part. You have to just make an air tight disclaimer for the site from a lawyer which absorbs you from peoples personal opinions............It is possible and some such sites which blog on politics have pretty nasty lies and assertions. But they get away with it without law even litigation……..So just consult a lawyer or some of these politically blogs sites (moderators) for advice or procedures. So yes, you can do it without getting into trouble if well done.
