they sent me a letter saying I resigned but I was placed on call

The co I work for had to downsize so they put me on call and wrote on the paper that I signed to be on call that it was due to no fault of my own . Then I got a letter two months later saying that they accepted my resignation. What should I do and can they do that?
 
No, you really weren't clear. If you aren't retiring yet & want to continue working, you need to look for other employment. You can't draw unemployment ins. unless you are ready, willing & able to work & looking for work. Will you be receiving any type of pension/income from your employer now that you no longer work there? If they hadn't called you back in 2 months, they "probably" weren't going to.
