If possible, I would like to mnow where to look for the statute of limitations in the state of Texas regarding theft. I had someone steal something from my neighbor and I want it back in the right hands, but, I am unsure of how much time I have left.

Generally in Texas you have two years to bring a civil suit for injury to property. There also is a two year limitation on misdemeanor charges, five years for felony theft or robbery charges.

But keep in mind that there are many small details and exceptions in the laws so this is only a general guideline.

Also depends on what was stolen, if it was a car or something of great value, the limitation is longer than stealing their garden rake (in most states). Let me know what has transpired since your last submission.
