The Kitten

Dont know if this is the right place for this but here goes...I have a friend that had a 7 week old kitten, the cat had gotten outside and when he picked the kitten up she scratched him he threw the kitten and it hit a car (parked) There were inguries to the kitten which resulted in her death...He is now being charged with animal torture and cruelty..and is in jail...could anyone tell me what will happen next and what to expect from here on out thank you so much

"Animal torture" - are you in Utah? For it to be torture, it has to be intentional and heinous. IMHO this doesn't sound like that. Animal torture can be a felony, but animal cruelty is usually a misdemeanour.

He can expect to be arraigned (go to court and have the charges read against him) and enter a plea. Then some sort of bail hearing about whether and under what conditions he should be released. He'll want to get a lawyer for this.
