Does anyone know what the law is if some one threaten's to beat up someone on text measage in the state of california we have been atacked and vandilized by these people and the county sheriffs just sluf it off now there sending measages in text to my wifes phone to harm us .

If the police won't help you, one avenue to take is getting a restraining order. Be sure to keep the evidence.

Go to the sheriif's office and file a written Citizen's complaint, have them make you a copy, make several copies and hand-deliver one copy of the complaint to the prosecutor's office and have them stamp one of your copies, proving that you served a copy to the prosecutor. If nothing is done, contact the FBI, this is a serious federal crime.
