MARLIN, Texas (KWTX) Falls County Sheriff Ricky Scaman is wearing a cast and a sling after breaking his left arm in two places while arresting a fugitive, and the man he was after is behind bars.
Danny Ray Sadler, 38, of Marlin, who's named in a parole violation warrant, was held without bond Tuesday in the Falls County Jail.
Scaman had been looking for Sadler for several days and finally decided to stake out the man's home Saturday.
Sadler arrived at the residence at around 11 p.m. Saturday, but when he saw Scaman, he ran.
Scaman caught up with him after a three-block chase, but then fell during a tussle as he attempted to handcuff Sadler, breaking his arm.
Sadler was sent to prison in 2015 for assault on a public servant/harassment.
"Sadler has a criminal history involving drugs, assault on a public servant and resisting arrest," Scaman said Tuesday.
