Can an employer suspend you without prior warning because a customer lied to them and wouldn't listen to you when you had witnesses to the event
 
Yes. Nothing in any law requires that you be provided with a warning before you can be suspended.

If you are in a union and this runs contrary to your union contract, the proper place to address it is through your union. If you are not union and have no contract that is violated by this, there is nothing illegal here.
