My inlaws have custody of my 2 children. I was awarded reasonable supervised visitation by the court. In the order it did not state when or how long. They have only been allowing me 3 hours every Sunday, if I am lucky. My children have shown lack of respect and discipline and when I mentioned it to my inlaws they stated that they will no longer be allowing visitation. I cannot afford a lawyer and they know it, therefore thay are taking advantage of it. What can I do? My inlaws have shown that they cannot control my children and I am worried. My husband and I were trying to regain custody at the time of his passing a few months ago.

It is possible to request a modification of the visitation and/or custody order yourself after a requisite wait time has passed. The clerk's office can direct you to the documents you need and your county may have facilitators who can help you to complete them. If you are requesting visitation, be very specific as to exchange times, contingency plans, transportation, etc. to avoid this situation in the future.
